I regularly use Cat Scan (CT) images to see the patients airway and know where the obstruction of the air is located. Most snorers and sleep apnea patients breath through their mouth as they sleep and make lots of noise. The snoring sound is usually coming from the throat. The tongue falls back in the throat as they sleep and blocks the air. As the air is blocked the snoring sound develops and in apnea patients the throat restriction completely stops the air from moving until the person arouses and gasps for air and the episodes starts all over again. The obstruction of air continues repeating itself many many times through the night. I place the lower jaw into a treatment position and take a second CT image to again evaluate the size of the airway. When my jaw positioning increases the available airway I recommend making an oral appliance (OA) to treat the snoring and sleep apnea by wearing an oral appliance. The treatment is well accepted. I have treated hundreds of cases. Patients and partners are relieved to get a good night’s sleep. If you or someone you know is struggling with snoring or sleep apnea call for a complimentary evaluation! Call The TMJ Sleep Center concerning sleep apnea, TMJ, headaches, pain, migraines. Under Idaho law, a court may terminate a person’s parental rights if it is in the best interest a child, and if other conditions exist such as abandonment and neglect. Since parenting is a fundamental right, a parent has an opportunity to contest a petition to terminate his or her parental rights. A good family law attorney can help you determine what options are available to contest the petition to terminate your parental rights. Cats and dogs are incredibly stoic when it comes to discomfort in the mouth. Despite painful teeth, roots, and gums, they often eat, drink, play, and act as if nothing is wrong. This is a result of deep-seated feral behavior; no matter that cats and dogs have been domesticated for ages, deep down they have wild instincts. And in the wild, complainers get eaten. So our furry family members try their best not to complain. This is not to say they don’t feel pain! Multiple studies indicate that pets experience pain similar to humans; they simply handle it in vastly different ways. In short, if your cat has dental disease to the extent that extractions are needed, then yes, she does have some oral pain. Professional dentistry with dental radiographs and oral surgery would benefit her, not only to make her more comfortable, but extend her life expectancy as well. Traditional CPAP treatment for sleep apnea is rejected by 55% of the patients. The FDA registered alternative I offer demonstrated greater than 80% acceptance in the studies conducted for FDA approval of this treatment. In my office we carefully screen patients to determine treatment success prior to initiating treatment. I compare the pretreatment resting airway to the airway achieved through the improved jaw position I select to predict treatment success before any treatment is initiated. Yes, our success in patient acceptance of treatment is greater than 80%. After initiating our treatment we rarely have a patient reject treatment. Failure cases are simply identified and screened out prior to treatment. Snoring goes away! Patients feel rested and refreshed. No morning headache. Memory improves while sleepiness and fatigue decrease. Depression and anxiety decrease. Blood pressure is more easily controlled. Partners are relieved to also get a good night’s sleep. If you or someone you know is struggling with snoring or sleep apnea call for a New Year’s complimentary evaluation! According to the American Dental Association (ADA), an athlete is 60 times more likely to suffer harm to teeth when not wearing a mouthguard. While mouthguards are most commonly used for contact sports, the ADA suggests athletes might need a mouthguard when participating in any of the following activities: acrobatics, baseball, basketball, bicycling, boxing, equestrian events, extreme sports, field hockey, football, gymnastics, ice hockey, inline skating, lacrosse, martial arts, racquetball, rugby, shot-putting, skateboarding, skiing, skydiving, soccer, softball, squash, surfing, volleyball, water polo, weightlifting and wrestling. When considering a mouthguard it is important to recognize ones options. Most are familiar with the semi-custom mouth pieces which you “boil and bite”. These work well but may be a little bulky and lead to decreased use. Custom mouthguards may be made which are fabricated in a lab to exactly fit the person’s mouth. While these are more expensive, they do offer an improved fit and many people find it easier to breath well and tolerated the custom forms. The most important thing is to have a mouthguard in place, whether custom or semi-custom, whenever there is a chance of being struck in the face. Think of your mouthguard as cheap insurance for your teeth and jaws.
Probably not. According to the Idaho Child Support Guidelines, traditional overtime pay is generally excluded from child support calculations. However, “overtime” pay is considered by the court if an individual is self-employed and works more than 40 hours per week, if an individual is a seasonal worker, if an individual works more than full-time for part of the year, but less than full-time for most of the year, or if an employer regularly requires overtime work. A skilled family lawyer can help you achieve a maximum, just result. Remember that a general informational series is not a substitute for actual legal representation.
